Mixing Mediums with Aberdeen & Audrey

In collaboration with Aberdeen Studio, we helped to bring to life the
visual story of East Nashville's, Audrey.

Audrey is James Beard award-winning chef, Sean Brock’s first solo venture and flagship restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. Sean’s idea for Audrey, named after his grandmother, was to create an atmosphere that felt like an Appalachian tobacco barn, but that also felt contemporary.

Through Audrey, Sean hopes to meaningfully influence Southern Culture, cuisine, and community in the kitchen as he explores the future of Southern Food, all while focusing on creating a healthier workplace.

Everything looks to be very much on track as Audrey recently secured a coveted spot on “The Restaurant List,” a highly regarded annual list published by the New York Times.

Audrey has been described as Sean Brock’s most personal project to date and we were proud to collaborate with the skilled team of woodworkers at Aberdeen Studio to help translate this very personal vision into tangible, handcrafted design elements.

For this project at Audrey, Aberdeen crafted beautiful, custom wine coasters milled from solid white oak, flaunting a flawless lacquer finish. The clever design allows each coaster to seamlessly nest together for easy and practical storage.

While these custom pieces are small and simple in their design, they are rich in detail. The black matte leather inserts were hand creased, and feature tonal stitching. The Audrey logo was hot stamped with gold foil for a timeless and elegant finish.
